Ingredients

  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • dash cinnamon
  • unbaked pie shell

Instructions

  1. Mix cherries, juice from the can plus enough water to make 1 cup, and the rest of the filling ingredients in a saucepan.
  2. Cook the mixture until it boils, thickens, and becomes clear-looking.
  3. Pour the hot filling into an unbaked pie shell.
  4. Bake as needed according to your pie shell instructions or until the crust is golden and filling is bubbly.
