Cherry Spoon Cake is a luscious layered dessert featuring cherry filling, pineapple, and a buttery cake topping, perfect for family gatherings or holiday celebrations.

Ingredients

  • 16 oz. can cherry pie filling
  • 8 1/4 oz. can crushed pineapple, undrained
  • 18 1/2 oz. package yellow cake mix (no pudding in mix)
  • 2 sticks butter or margarine
  • 3 1/2 oz. can flaked coconut
  • 1 cup chopped pecans or other nuts

Instructions

  1. Spray a 9 x 3 x 2-inch pan with cooking spray or Pam.
  2. Line the bottom of the pan with cherry pie filling and spread the crushed pineapple evenly over the cherry layer.
  3. Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the pineapple layer.
  4. Pour the melted butter evenly over the cake mix.
  5. Sprinkle the flaked coconut and chopped pecans on top of the buttered cake mix.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 325°F (160°C) for 1 hour.
  7. Allow to cool completely before serving.
