Tips & Substitutions

For a crispier chicken, consider using panko bread crumbs instead of traditional Italian bread crumbs. If you want a bit of spice, add some red pepper flakes to the bread crumb mixture. You can also substitute the chicken with shrimp for a seafood twist, reminiscent of classic Chicken Scampi recipes. Don't forget to adjust cooking times accordingly for shrimp.

Serving Suggestions

This Chicken Scampi pairs beautifully with a side of Angel Hair With Tomatoes, Basil And Garlic for a refreshing complement. A simple green salad or garlic bread also makes an excellent accompaniment. For a heartier meal, consider serving it alongside a baked potato or over a bed of pasta.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I make this dish ahead of time?

Yes, you can prepare the chicken and bread crumb mixture in advance. Store the coated chicken in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours before cooking. Just remember to adjust cooking times slightly if starting from a cold state.

What can I use instead of butter?

If you need a butter substitute, consider using olive oil or a plant-based butter alternative. This will still provide flavor and help crisp the chicken, while making it suitable for those who are dairy-free.

Can I add vegetables to this dish?

Absolutely! Adding sautéed vegetables like bell peppers, zucchini, or spinach can enhance the flavor and nutrition of the dish. Simply cook the veggies in the same pan after browning the chicken, then combine them before broiling.
