Ingredients

  • fryer chicken
  • flour
  • 1 stick oleo or butter

Instructions

  1. Cut up the fryer chicken into pieces.
  2. Heavily flour the chicken pieces.
  3. Place the floured chicken in a casserole or Dutch oven.
  4. Cut the oleo or butter into pieces and place over the chicken.
  5. Add water to cover the chicken.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 1 to 1½ hours.
  7. When the chicken is about halfway done, squeeze the juice of a lemon over it.
  8. Continue baking until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
