Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 1 Tbsp. butter or margarine
  • 1 Tbsp. oil
  • 6 thin slices ham
  • 1/2 Tbsp. dried basil or oregano leaves
  • 2/3 cup grated Swiss cheese

Instructions

  1. Rinse chicken breasts and pat dry.
  2. Remove skin from the chicken.
  3. Saute chicken in heated butter and oil on both sides until browned.
  4. Alternately arrange the chicken and folded ham slices in a buttered baking dish.
  5. Sprinkle with crumbled basil leaves.
  6. Sprinkle with grated Swiss cheese.
  7. Bake at 375°F for 25 minutes, until the chicken is tender and juices run when pierced with a fork.
