Ingredients

  • 1 head chicory
  • 2 c. water
  • pinch of sugar
  • a little pepper
  • couple Tbsp. of tomato sauce
  • 2 large cloves garlic
  • toasted French or Italian bread

Instructions

  1. Clean and wash one head of chicory.
  2. Cut into manageable eating size pieces.
  3. In a pot, place 2 cups water, a pinch of sugar, pepper, tomato sauce, and the pressed cloves of garlic.
  4. Add the cut chicory greens to the pot and cook, covered, at medium heat until done, about 10 to 15 minutes.
  5. Serve hot with toasted French or Italian bread.
