Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. Pillsbury Plus German chocolate cake mix
  • 1/3 cup margarine or butter
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 1 (12.5 oz.) caramel ice cream topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Grease a 13 x 9-inch pan.
  3. In a large bowl, combine cake mix, melted margarine or butter, and milk; mix well.
  4. Press half of the dough evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  5. Sprinkle chocolate chips and chopped nuts evenly over the dough.
  6. Drizzle the caramel ice cream topping evenly over the chocolate chips and nuts.
  7. Crumble the remaining dough mixture over the caramel topping.
  8. Bake at 350°F for 25 to 30 minutes or until the caramel begins to bubble.
  9. Cool completely before cutting into 36 bars.
