Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup butter
  • 6 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. Combine sugar and butter in a saucepan.
  2. Cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until the candy thermometer reaches 300°F.
  3. Spread the hot mixture onto a wax paper-lined pan.
  4. Sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot candy.
  5. Let stand for 5 minutes to allow the chocolate to melt.
  6. Spread the melted chocolate evenly over the candy.
  7. Sprinkle chopped walnuts on top.
  8. Allow the toffee to cool completely.
  9. Break into pieces and serve.
