Ingredients

  • 1 cup ground walnuts
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 9 ounces semi-sweet chocolate
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup rum or brandy

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven and prepare an 8 or 9-inch spring-form pan.
  2. In a bowl, grind the walnuts into fine crumbs.
  3. Melt the semi-sweet chocolate and set aside to cool slightly.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, beat the eggs and sugar until thick and pale.
  5. Stir in the melted chocolate, ground walnuts, flour, butter, and rum or brandy until well combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared spring-form pan.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the torte to cool before removing from the pan and serving.
