A hearty Christmas breakfast casserole combining sausage, eggs, cheese, and bread, perfect for festive mornings and family gatherings with rich flavors and comforting textures.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. pork sausage
  • 6 eggs
  • 2 c. milk
  • 2 slices bread
  • 1 c. sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard

Instructions

  1. Saute the sausage, drain all the grease, and set aside.
  2. Beat the eggs, add milk, salt, and dry mustard, and stir.
  3. Layer the bread cubes on the bottom of a 9 x 13 inch baking dish.
  4. Layer the cooked sausage over the bread.
  5. Sprinkle the grated cheddar cheese on top.
  6. Pour the egg mixture over the layers.
  7. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 45 minutes before serving.
