Ingredients

  • 3 lb. chuck roast (2-inches thick)
  • 1 envelope dry onion soup mix
  • 1 c. cream of mushroom soup
  • steak sauce to taste (Worcestershire is good)

Instructions

  1. Place roast in center of heavy foil in roasting pan.
  2. Spread roast with steak sauce.
  3. Sprinkle onion soup over the top.
  4. Spread mushroom soup over all.
  5. Seal the foil at sides and top. Completely enclose the meat but leave an air space above meat. Bake at 350° for 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
  6. Makes its own gravy.
