Ingredients

  • 1 large orange
  • 2 (8 oz.) packages cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups confectioners sugar
  • 2 teaspoons lemon extract
  • 1 1/2 pints heavy cream
  • 2 (3 oz.) packages sponge ladyfingers
  • about 1 1/2 pints strawberries

Instructions

  1. Peel and segment the orange, then set aside.
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat softened cream cheese until smooth.
  3. Gradually add confectioners sugar and lemon extract, mixing until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
  5. Fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until smooth.
  6. Arrange a layer of ladyfingers in the bottom of a trifle dish.
  7. Spread a portion of the citrus mixture over the ladyfingers.
  8. Add a layer of sliced strawberries on top.
  9. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used, ending with strawberries on top.
  10. Chill the trifle for about 3 hours before serving.
