A vibrant and crunchy Oriental salad featuring crisp lettuce, toasted almonds, green onions, tender chicken, and crispy wontons, perfect for light, flavorful gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 head iceberg lettuce
  • 1 bag slivered almonds
  • 1 bunch green onions
  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 1 package wontons

Instructions

  1. Simmer chicken in water until cooked; then cut into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Brown the slivered almonds and sesame seeds on a baking sheet in a 350°F oven until light brown.
  3. Tear the iceberg lettuce into small pieces.
  4. Chop green onions.
  5. Slice the wontons into three sections and deep fry in peanut oil until lightly browned.
  6. Lightly toss all ingredients together in a large bowl.
  7. Just before serving, pour dressing over the salad and mix lightly to coat.
