Ingredients

  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon melted shortening
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • 1/2 cup coconut
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon honey

Instructions

  1. Beat the egg in a mixing bowl, gradually add sugar, then mix in melted shortening and vanilla.
  2. Combine the wet mixture with rolled oats, chopped nuts, coconut, salt, and honey.
  3. Drop teaspoonfuls of the mixture onto a greased cookie sheet and flatten with a fork.
  4. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F for 10 to 12 minutes until golden brown.
