Ingredients

  • 3 cups sugar
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 pound butter
  • 5 eggs
  • 1/3 cup Wesson oil
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon lemon extract
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Combine sugar, butter, and Wesson oil in a mixing bowl.
  2. Beat until creamy.
  3. Beat in eggs, one at a time.
  4. Mix flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
  5. Add a small amount of milk and flour mixture at a time to the wet ingredients, mixing well after each addition.
  6. Add lemon extract and vanilla extract to the batter.
  7. Pour the batter into a large tube pan.
  8. Bake in a preheated oven at 300°F for 1 1/2 hours.
