Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 to 2 cups fresh dewberries
  • 3 deep dish unbaked pie shells
  • 4 eggs
  • 2/3 cup flour
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butter

Instructions

  1. Place dewberries into the unbaked pie shells.
  2. Mix the eggs, flour, sugar, evaporated milk, and salt until well blended and pour over the dewberries in the pie shells.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the butter, flour, and sugar until crumbly; sprinkle this mixture over the custard and berries.
  4. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 45 minutes to an hour, until the filling is set and the topping is golden brown.
