Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb dried prunes or figs
  • 1/2 cup Amontillado sherry
  • 1 large can (1 lb. 14 oz.) whole apricots in syrup
  • 1 cup syrup from canned apricots
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon allspice (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon grated orange rind
  • 2 oranges peeled and sectioned

Instructions

  1. Simmer the prunes or figs in the sherry and apricot syrup for several minutes.
  2. Add the cinnamon, allspice (if used), and orange rind.
  3. Simmer for 15 minutes.
  4. Add the drained apricots and orange sections.
  5. Chill the mixture.
  6. Serve in goblets.
