Ingredients

  • 1 c. cornmeal
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. butter or bacon drippings
  • 1 c. boiling water

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients except water.
  2. Pour boiling water over this mixture and beat until well blended.
  3. Dip hands in cold water. Take a handful of batter and drop onto a greased cookie sheet or griddle.
  4. Bake in a 400° oven for about 8 minutes or cook on top of stove.
