Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 c. self-rising meal
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. water
  • 1/3 c. oil

Instructions

  1. Put self-rising white or yellow meal in a bowl with self-rising flour.
  2. Stir in egg.
  3. Pour in buttermilk and add salt.
  4. Then add 1 cup of water or until mix is smooth.
  5. Pour into a well-oiled bread pan.
  6. Bake the mix until it turns yellow.
  7. Then turn oven to broil. When crust is light brown or golden, bread is done.
