Ingredients

  • 2 c. white vinegar
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 1/3 c. salt
  • 1 tsp. celery seed
  • 12 c. sliced cukes
  • 2 large sliced onions
  • 2 green peppers, cut up

Instructions

  1. Select a 1-gallon glass jar for pickling.
  2. Combine 2 cups of white vinegar, 3 cups of sugar, 1/3 cup of salt, and 1 teaspoon of celery seed in a saucepan.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring until the sugar and salt are dissolved.
  4. Wash and slice 12 cups of cucumbers, 2 large onions, and cut up 2 green peppers.
  5. Pack the sliced vegetables into the prepared glass jar.
  6. Pour the hot vinegar mixture over the vegetables, ensuring they are fully submerged.
  7. Seal the jar and let the pickles sit in the refrigerator for at least 24 hours before serving for best flavor.
