Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons white syrup

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients in a large kettle.
  2. Bring to a boil and cook until reaching the hard ball stage (a drop in cold water forms a hard ball).
  3. Once the syrup reaches the proper temperature, pour about 4 quarts of popped popcorn into the syrup mixture.
  4. Stir over fire until all popcorn is coated.
