- Dissolve the cherry gelatin in boiling water.
- Add the undrained crushed pineapple and cranberry sauce, stirring until the cranberry sauce melts.
- Chill the mixture until it is partially set.
- Pour half of the gelatin mixture into a 6 1/2 cup ring mold.
- Chill until almost firm.
- Let the remaining gelatin mixture set at room temperature.
- Spread the sour cream evenly over the almost set gelatin in the mold.
- Gently spoon the remaining gelatin mixture on top of the sour cream layer.
- Chill until the mold is firm.
- Unmold onto a serving plate.
