Cream Cheese Sticks are flaky, buttery pastries filled with sugar and nuts, perfect for snacking or serving at gatherings with a delightful sweet crunch.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. butter
  • 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
  • 4 c. flour
  • 1 1/4 c. evaporated milk
  • granulated sugar
  • finely chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Cut butter and cream cheese into flour as for pie crust.
  2. Add evaporated milk and knead dough for 2 minutes with an electric beater or 4 minutes by hand.
  3. Refrigerate dough overnight.
  4. Using one-quarter of the dough at a time, roll on a floured board to the thickness of a pie crust.
  5. Brush on evaporated milk; sprinkle with sugar and finely chopped nuts.
  6. Cut into strips 2 inches long by 1 inch wide using a pastry cutter or sharp knife.
  7. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 350°F for about 12 minutes.
  8. Immediately remove sticks to cooling racks.
