Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter or margarine
  • 2 c. flour
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 c. plus 2 Tbsp. water
  • 1 tsp. almond extract

Instructions

  1. Combine 1/2 cup butter and 1 cup flour.
  2. Mix as for pie crust. Add 2 tablespoons water.
  3. Form into a ball; divide in half.
  4. Pat onto an ungreased cookie sheet, 3 x 12 inches.
  5. Heat to boiling 1 cup water and 1/2 cup butter.
  6. Add 1 cup flour after removing from heat.
  7. Mix well.
  8. Add eggs one at a time.
  9. Beat mixture well.
  10. Add almond extract.
  11. Spread on crust.
  12. Bake at 350° for 55 minutes.
  13. Frost when cool.
