Ingredients

  • 2 or 3 cups carrots
  • 1/4 teaspoon fresh dill
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • salt

Instructions

  1. Slice or dice the carrots.
  2. Cook the carrots in salted water until tender, then drain.
  3. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  4. Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes to form a roux.
  5. Gradually add the milk, whisking constantly until the sauce thickens.
  6. Stir in the fresh dill, salt, and pepper to taste.
  7. Add the cooked carrots to the sauce and heat through before serving.
