Ingredients

  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. Crisco or shortening
  • 3 c. plain flour or cake flour
  • 1 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. vanilla and butter flavoring
  • 1 c. milk
  • 3 eggs

Instructions

  1. Add eggs to the other ingredients one at a time, beating after each addition.
  2. Pour the batter into a prepared cake pan.
  3. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 45 to 50 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
