Crisp fried cabbage offers a savory, slightly sweet snack or side with a crunchy texture and umami flavor, perfect for vegetable lovers and casual gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 medium white cabbage
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1/4 c. corn oil

Instructions

  1. Heat a frypan with a little corn oil.
  2. Slice the cabbage thinly into strips.
  3. Fry a couple of handfuls of cabbage at a time in the pan, adding more oil as cabbage absorbs it.
  4. Turn over with a spatula to prevent burning and keep adding cabbage until all is used up.
  5. Cook for about 5 minutes.
  6. Just before serving, sprinkle with sugar and soy sauce.
  7. Turn once or twice to coat evenly.
