Crispy Crisps are savory, flaky snacks made from puff pastry, topped with seeds or seasoning, perfect for parties or as a delightful appetizer.

Ingredients

  • 1 box puff pastry
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. water
  • poppy seed or sesame seed or Cajun seasoning (optional)
  • Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Thaw the puff pastry.
  3. Roll one sheet of pastry into an 18 x 10-inch rectangle on a lightly floured surface.
  4. In a cup, beat the egg; add salt and water, then beat again.
  5. Brush the pastry with the egg mixture.
  6. Sprinkle your choice of poppy seed, sesame seed, Cajun seasoning, or Parmesan cheese over the pastry.
  7. Cut the pastry crosswise into 1/4-inch strips.
  8. Place the strips on a large cookie sheet.
  9. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes until golden and crispy.
  10. Allow to cool before storing in an airtight container.
