Crispy criss-cross potatoes with a tender interior, seasoned with butter, salt, and paprika, perfect as a comforting side or snack for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 large baking potato
  • 1 Tbsp. butter or margarine, melted
  • salt
  • paprika or seasoned salt

Instructions

  1. Scrub the potato and cut it in half lengthwise.
  2. Make diagonal slashes about 1/8-inch deep in the cut surface of the potato, forming a crisscross pattern.
  3. Brush the cut surface with melted butter and season with salt or seasoned salt.
  4. Place the potato in a small shallow pan or on a piece of foil.
  5. Bake in a hot oven at 400°F (200°C) for 40 minutes.
  6. Sprinkle the potato with paprika if desired.
  7. Bake for an additional 10 minutes or until done.
