- While crock-pot is warming up on high setting, place barley in 1-quart of water and bring to a boil.
- When barley comes to a boil and crock-pot is hot, pour barley and water into crock-pot and add remaining water.
- Cover, turn heat to low and leave on all night. About 15 minutes before serving, add remaining ingredients except almonds and stir together.
- Place in serving dish and sprinkle with almonds.
- Yields 4 servings.
