Ingredients

  • 1 lb navy beans
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 cup catsup
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons dry mustard
  • 2 tablespoons molasses
  • 1 smoked ham hock

Instructions

  1. Soak navy beans in 4 cups water in the refrigerator for 8 to 24 hours. Drain, rinse, and put into the crock pot.
  2. Mix chopped onion, catsup, salt, brown sugar, dry mustard, and molasses with 1 cup water.
  3. Pour the mixture over the beans in the crock pot, and stir to coat the beans evenly.
  4. Press the smoked ham hock down into the beans.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 10 to 12 hours until the beans are tender.
