Ingredients

  • 2 to 3 lb. soup bones
  • 1 pt. tomato juice
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 can (14 oz.) tomatoes

Instructions

  1. Combine beef soup bones, tomato juice, chopped onion, Worcestershire sauce, bay leaves, tomatoes, and about 6 cups water in the crock-pot.
  2. Simmer on low for about 6 hours, or according to your crock-pot's instructions.
  3. Remove the meat from the bones and cut into cubes.
  4. Strain the broth, let it cool until the fat congeals, then skim off the fat.
  5. Add the cubed meat, tomatoes, and soup vegetables to the broth and return to the crock-pot.
  6. Simmer on low until the vegetables are tender.
