Ingredients

  • chicken pieces
  • self-rising flour
  • buttermilk
  • salt

Instructions

  1. Remove skin from chicken pieces.
  2. Soak chicken in buttermilk overnight or in a mixture of 3 tablespoons vinegar added to regular milk for several hours.
  3. Next day, place self-rising flour, salt, and pepper in a paper bag.
  4. Put chicken pieces into the bag and shake until coated evenly.
  5. Fry the coated chicken in medium grease until golden brown and crisp.
  6. Let sit for 3 to 4 minutes before serving.
