Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 package yeast
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 2 egg yolks

Instructions

  1. Mix 1/2 cup milk, yeast, 2 teaspoons sugar, and 2 tablespoons flour.
  2. Let this mixture stand for 10 minutes.
  3. Cream shortening, egg yolks, 2/3 cup sugar, salt, and 2 cups lukewarm milk.
  4. Add this to the yeast mixture.
  5. Add the flour and knead well.
  6. Cover and let rise in a warm place until double in size.
