Ingredients

  • 4 egg yolks
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup cracker crumbs
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup walnut meats
  • 1 cup pitted dates
  • a pinch of salt
  • 4 egg whites

Instructions

  1. Combine egg yolks, sugar, and salt in a mixing bowl.
  2. Mix together the cracker crumbs and baking powder.
  3. Add the crumb mixture to the egg yolk mixture, then fold in chopped dates and walnut meats.
  4. Gently fold in stiffly beaten egg whites until well combined.
  5. Pour the batter into a prepared baking dish and bake at 350°F until set, about 30 minutes.
