Date Nut Harvest Cake

Instructions
- Pour 1 cup boiling water over chopped dates, baking soda and chopped apples.
- Mix well and cool.
- Cream together margarine, sugar and eggs; add vanilla.
- Add to creamed mixture alternately with date mixture.
- Bake in greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes.
