Ingredients

  • 6 large apples
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 3/4 c. flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 6 Tbsp. butter

Instructions

  1. Pare, core, and slice the apples.
  2. Place the sliced apples in a deep dish.
  3. Add lemon juice and water over the apples.
  4. Mix cinnamon with 1/2 cup of sugar and sprinkle over the apples.
  5. Combine remaining sugar with flour and salt.
  6. Work in butter until the mixture resembles coarse cornmeal.
  7. Sprinkle the crumbly mixture over the apples and pat it smooth.
  8. Bake at 375°F until the apples are tender and done.
