Ingredients

  • deer meat
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped green pepper
  • barbecue sauce (Bulls Eye, Heinz, or Kraft, regular and hot and spicy varieties)
  • Texas Pete hot sauce
  • 1 tablespoon salt

Instructions

  1. Cut deer meat into small chunks or pieces.
  2. Cook in a pressure cooker for approximately 30 minutes or in a regular pot for 1 1/2 hours until very tender.
  3. Pour off most of the broth.
  4. Use a fork to pull apart the meat until stringy.
  5. Mix in barbecue sauce, using one part regular to two parts hot and spicy.
  6. Cook for approximately 30 minutes with the lid on.
  7. Add chopped onion, green pepper (if desired), and salt; cook on low heat, stirring often.
