Ingredients

  • 16 oz. can tomatoes
  • 1/2 lb. meat (hamburger, chicken, or steak)
  • 8 or 16 oz. can corn, green beans, carrots, or potatoes
  • 1/4 to 1/2 onion
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 cup macaroni
  • 1/2 cup precooked rice or Minute rice (optional)
  • 1 tsp. garlic
  • celery

Instructions

  1. Brown the meat in a large pan; drain grease.
  2. Cook celery and onion if desired.
  3. Add water, seasoning, and tomatoes to the pan.
  4. Add any fresh vegetables or rice if using.
  5. Cook until vegetables and rice are tender.
  6. Add more water as needed during cooking.
  7. Adjust seasoning to taste.
  8. Cook for about 30 minutes.
  9. Serve hot with cornbread or biscuits.
