Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 1/4 c. milk
  • 1 c. granulated sugar
  • 3/4 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients together, except egg whites and 1 cup sugar.
  2. Put in 2 layer pans.
  3. Beat egg whites until stiff; add 1 cup granulated sugar.
  4. Spread over batter in layer pans (2) and bake about 1 hour slowly at 275°.
  5. Be sure to first grease and flour cake pans.
  6. Serve with whipped cream.
