Ingredients

  • 1 cup vinegar
  • 1/4 cup noniodized salt
  • 5 cups water
  • 1 gallon jar washed cucumbers
  • garlic cloves
  • pickling spices
  • red pepper
  • dill

Instructions

  1. Put cucumbers in a gallon jar.
  2. Add garlic, pickling spices, red pepper, and fresh dill as desired.
  3. Combine vinegar, salt, and water, bringing to a boil.
  4. Pour the hot vinegar mixture over the cucumbers.
  5. Cool the jar to room temperature.
  6. Cover and place in refrigerator.
  7. Let stand for 5 or 6 weeks before using.
