Ingredients

  • 2 slices dry bread
  • 1 Tbsp diet margarine
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp allspice
  • 3 cups apples sliced
  • 1 Tbsp lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Make crumbs from the dry bread toasted in the oven.
  3. Mix bread crumbs with diet margarine, cinnamon, and 1/4 teaspoon allspice.
  4. Mix sliced apples with lemon juice, maple topping, and the remaining allspice.
  5. Spread the apple mixture in a well-greased 8-inch round shallow pan.
  6. Cover with the crumb mixture and bake for 45 minutes or until apples are tender.
  7. Serve warm.
