Sweet and decadent dipped strawberries featuring smooth vanilla and rich chocolate coatings, perfect for entertaining, gifting, or a delightful treat for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 qt. medium fresh strawberries
  • 1 2/3 c. vanilla baking chips
  • 2 Tbsp. shortening, divided
  • 1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Wash and stem the strawberries. Pat them dry with paper towels until completely dry.
  2. In a microwave or double boiler, melt the vanilla baking chips with 1 tablespoon of shortening.
  3. Dip each strawberry until about 2/3 of the berry is coated, allowing excess to drip off.
  4. Place the dipped strawberries on a wax paper-lined tray.
  5. Refrigerate for 30 minutes or until the coating is set.
  6. Melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips with 1 tablespoon of shortening.
  7. Dip each coated strawberry until about 1/3 of the berry is covered with chocolate.
  8. Return the dipped strawberries to the tray.
  9. Refrigerate for another 30 minutes or until the coatings are set.
