Soft, fluffy icebox rolls with a hint of sweetness and buttery richness, perfect for breakfast or dinner sides, suited for family gatherings or casual meals.

Ingredients

  • boiling water
  • sugar
  • flour
  • yeast
  • hen egg
  • lukewarm water
  • butter
  • salt

Instructions

  1. Cream shortening and sugar; add salt and boiling water.
  2. Beat egg and add to the mixture.
  3. Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water.
  4. Add flour and mix well.
  5. Cover and put in the icebox.
  6. Make out rolls about 2 hours before baking.
  7. Put on a greased pan and brush with melted butter.
  8. Let rise in a warm place.
  9. Bake in oven at 400° to 425° until light brown, 10 to 15 minutes.
  10. Serve and enjoy.
