Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. chopped pecans
  • 2 oz. melted baking chocolate

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Cream butter; gradually add sugar and beat until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in eggs and vanilla.
  4. Sift together flour and salt.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the creamed mixture.
  6. Blend in chopped pecans.
  7. Divide the dough in half.
  8. Add melted baking chocolate to one half of the dough.
  9. Spread the white layer (plain dough) in the bottom of a pan.
  10. Spread the chocolate layer on top of the white layer.
  11. Bake for 30 minutes.
  12. Cool in pan on wire rack.
