Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup Crisco
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 cups cake flour
  • 1 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Cream the sugar, butter, and Crisco together until smooth and fluffy.
  2. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  3. Alternately add flour and milk to the mixture, beginning and ending with flour, mixing after each addition.
  4. Stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Pour the batter into prepared cake pans and bake at 350°F until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
