Ingredients

  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 cup lukewarm water
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 package dry yeast
  • 7 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar

Instructions

  1. Combine sugar, salt, lukewarm water, eggs, and dry yeast in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Mix on low speed for 2 minutes and set aside.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine flour, sugar, Crisco, and water.
  4. Mix the flour mixture with the yeast mixture.
  5. Mix for 3 minutes with a heavy-duty mixer at medium speed.
  6. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place until double in size.
  7. Punch the dough down.
  8. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  9. With floured hands, form the dough into round balls.
  10. Place the balls into muffin tins.
  11. Let the dough rise in a warm place until doubled in size.
  12. Bake at 350°F until golden brown, about 15 minutes.
