Ingredients

  • 1 c. cornstarch
  • 1/2 c. cold water
  • 2 c. table salt
  • 2/3 c. water
  • food coloring

Instructions

  1. Stir together cornstarch and 1/2 cup cold water in a bowl.
  2. In a saucepan, mix 2 cups salt and 2/3 cup water over low heat until very warm.
  3. Pour the cornstarch mixture into the salt and water mixture and stir.
  4. Cook until the mixture becomes quite warm and reaches the consistency of stiff dough.
  5. Remove from the pan, cool, and knead like bread dough.
  6. Knead food coloring into the dough until evenly colored.
  7. Store in a plastic bag at room temperature.
