Crunchy, sweet, and savory dry roasted pecans with a hint of salt and sugar, perfect for snacking or adding to desserts, suited for nut lovers and party trays.

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon milk
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon water
  • 1 quart pecan halves

Instructions

  1. Combine sugar, milk, and water in a bowl.
  2. Add beaten egg white and mix thoroughly to coat the pecans.
  3. Line a jelly roll sheet with aluminum foil.
  4. Arrange the coated pecans in a single layer on the prepared sheet.
  5. Bake in a 275°F (135°C) oven for 15 minutes.
  6. Remove from oven and stir carefully to lift the pecans from the foil.
  7. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
  8. Repeat stirring and baking process two more times, totaling one hour.
  9. Remove from oven, allow to cool, then store in a tight jar.
