Ingredients

  • greens, washed
  • sliced turnips
  • bacon pieces

Instructions

  1. Make a 4-inch layer of washed greens in the baking dish.
  2. Add a layer of sliced turnips and bacon pieces over the greens.
  3. Repeat with another layer of greens and turnips.
  4. Place the duck on top of the layered vegetables, stuffing the duck with turnips.
  5. Arrange bacon around and on top of the duck.
  6. Salt well and add 1 cup of water to the dish.
  7. Cook at 325°F for 3 hours, checking for doneness.
